In 2001, the original Asian Hip-Hop Summit was created in Los Angeles, California to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the LA Riots. Since then, the AHHS has become the premier event for the best up and coming Asian urban music talent in North America. Some of the biggest names in Asian-American Hip-Hop have gotten their starts from the Summit. Names like Far East Movement and Dumbfoundead early in their careers have performed at past events and the Summit has expanded to reach audiences all across North America.
The Summit’s very first trip to Vancouver was in 2007 and was made into an annual event until going into hiatus after 2009. On April 24, 2012 the long awaited return of the Asian Hip-Hop Summit to Vancouver is finally coming back for a new generation of artists and fans.
